The Top 20 dance again for us tonight.  They open with a pretty cool  number to Marilyn Manson’s Beautiful People by Tabitha & Napoleon.  Fun dancing and great use of Cyrus as the lead of the group.  It really played to his animator skills.  Adam Shankman joins as the third guest judge.  He’s always so funny.  We get our first set of eliminations tonight.  This week they’re cutting two guys and two girls.  Let’s see how they do before we lose some folk.

Lindsay & Cole – Hip Hop by Christopher Scott
Started off a little slow on the dance part, a fun routine and they were both very much in character.  Her Hip Hop looks very Ballroom.  He didn’t look bad.  I’m not enthused, a real let down from last week’s Paso Doble.

Amelia & Will – Jazz/Contemporary by Sonya Tayeh
I’m digging on the instrumental only music.  It was a very good piece but we weren’t particularly wowed.  Very strong partnership between the two of them, lots of good chemistry.

Amber & Nick – Argentine Tango by Choreographers Whose Names I missed
They both look the part though Nick’s almost bordering on creepy (he’s very spray tanned).  He started out slow and then got better.  It wasn’t all there as a dance but it wasn’t bad.  It was a hard routine.  I’ll give that to them.  Again, not enthused.

Audrey & Matt – Contemporary / Jazz by Sonya Tayeh
Great routine and a solid performance by both of them.  I liked the partner moves rather than the single moves.  Definitely the est of the show thus far.

Janelle and Dareian – Hip Hop by Christopher Scott
Fun routine – great music.  They were very much in character the whole time and did a great job. The dancing was good too. There was, however, something a bit off.  Janelle needed to bring it bit more to it.  It just didn’t play to their strengths.

Janaya & Brandon – Broadway by Sean Cheesman
A second fun routine in a row.  Much better than the last one and very well choreographed.  Janea was a total standout.  We didn’t really notice her before and now we do.  Great dancing, fun moves.  I liked the move where she hooked her foot over his shoulder.  Now this is the best one so far.

Eliana & Cyrus – Jive by Melanie & Tony
Great jive outfits, he pulls it off really well.  Eliana can really move.  Cyrus is gave it a great try.  He can’t do the jive kicks but he’s really keeping up with the choreography.  Pretty good all things considered.  She pulls all the weight in this couple though he is a really great partner. She continues to solidify her place as my favorite girl.

Alexa & Daniel – Contemporary by D. Kaspery
They are both great dancers you can see that from their moves and I think I’m partial to instrumental only music tonight.  The routine was technically executed well (and it was very hard to get in and out of a bathtub).  We’re feeling that something is just off between the two of them.  I think it’s their partnership, there’s just no passion there.  That was Alexa’s problem during Vegas and unfortunately she doesn’t have a partner that brings it out in her.  On a non-routine related note she looks way better without that dark red lipstick.

Tiffany & George – Foxtrot by Melanie & Tony
We liked it right from the start and it continued all the way throughout.  Great dancing, great costumes, great music.  They performed a great, hard foxtrot.  Tiffany looked exceptionally great out there.  They are a stark opposite from Alexa and Daniel when it came to partnering.

Witney & Chehon – Bollywood by Nakul
Great routine to end the night’s worth of performances.  They both did great. Natlie and I are not in agreement with who was better.  I though he was, Natalie thought she was.  They had hard moves, did them great and were 110% into the routine.  For me that was the most fun routine of the night.

Results
Now it’s results time!  The six (3 and 3) who received the lowest votes are: Janaya, Alexa, Witney, Nick, Daniel, Chehon.  They are in danger (think danger music).  We predict Nick and Alexa aren’t going to make it, we’re not sure about the other two.  We’ve got to wait to see how our predictions hold up.  First we get a sneak peak at dances from the new Step Up: Revolution movie (which Adam Shankman happens to be a producer on).

Now it’s time to save a girl.  After speaking to choreographers and the judges they decide to save Whitney.  Alexa and Janaya are out.  No big surprise on Alexa there.  Not too much of a surprise on Janaya considering we didn’t really notice her until tonight.  Whitney stepped up her game tonight and we wish her luck.

Onto the guys.  The judges decide to save Chehon. Out of all those three that’s who I would have guessed they saved.  Nick and Daniel are out.

Our hearts go out to those who weren’t saved tonight.  They are great dancers, they just weren’t the best.  The night’s worth of routines was not as good as last week with too many that were just kind of eh.  Kudos to Witney and Chehon on their Bollywood performance – we’re glad they were both saved.  I’m still rooting for Eliana as we go go into the top 16 next week.  Tune back in on Wednesday 7/26.
